Roller compactor hire with an operator in Chișinău

We bring the roller on our low loader anywhere in the country; our operator drives it off at your gate and compacts the base.

Call now

One call gets you the price and a day for the roller.

What arrives when you book a roller

A ride-on roller is a heavy machine with a seat and a steering wheel. It cannot be towed behind a car, and not just anyone can drive it, so when you hire one from us, the operator and the transport come with it.

  • The roller

A ride-on machine with a heavy steel drum, made for open ground: a yard, a drive, a site platform.

  • The operator

Our man, who knows this roller inside out. He walks the site first and tells you when a layer is done.

  • The low loader

The low-deck trailer that brings the roller on the agreed day and takes it away once the job is finished.

How to get the site ready for the roller

The low loader needs to get as close to the gate as it can. Look at the way in as a driver would, from the street to the last corner to be rolled.

  1. The road to the gate

The low loader is a long lorry with a low deck. It needs a street without tight bends, and wires or branches over the road have to clear the roller sitting up on the deck.

  2. Where it comes off

The operator drives the roller off the deck, so a few metres of flat, firm ground are needed beside the low loader. If it blocks the street for a few minutes, let the neighbours know.

  3. The gate and the way in

The roller drives into the yard under its own power, with the operator at the wheel. Tell us how wide the gate is and whether there is a step, a kerb or a small bridge over a ditch on the way.

  4. What is underground

A septic tank lid, a shallow water pipe, a cable or a manhole can crack under that weight. Show them to the operator before the first pass and he will steer round them.

  5. The stone spread out

The roller compacts what is already spread to the right depth. If the stone is still in a heap by the gate, it has to be spread first, by shovel or with our backhoe loader.

What the operator does, and what you show him

The operator arrives with the roller and leaves with it. While it is on your site, he is the only one who drives it.

  • Drives the roller off the low loader and over to where the work is.
  • Walks the whole site and asks about pipes, manholes and newly set kerbs.
  • Decides how many passes each layer needs and which side to start from.
  • Tells you when a layer is done and when the ground is too wet to compact.

The roller's day: planning it so it is never left waiting

A roller only works while there is something to roll. Nearly everything that shapes its day is settled before the low loader arrives.

  • Stone first

If the material is delivered on the same day, the first lorry needs to come early, so there is something to roll by the time the roller gets there.

  • Our stone

When we deliver the crushed stone or the sand and gravel mix, we time the tipper's runs around the roller's day.

  • How long it takes

A yard by the house is usually done faster than a long drive or a platform of three layers. Whether you need the roller for a whole day or a few hours, we work that out together.

  • After rain

Wet clay does not compact; it squeezes out from under the drum like modelling clay. After heavy rain the ground usually needs a day or two to dry, and the roller's day is best moved.

What we need to know when you call

With these answers we can usually give you the price and the day on the first call.

  • The village or sector and the street.
  • The length and width of the area, even roughly.
  • What is on it now: bare soil, spread stone or a heap by the gate.
  • How many layers there will be and what goes on top at the end.
  • How to get there: the width of the street, the gate, any low wires or branches.
  • When the material will be ready.

We tell you the price, with the operator's work counted in, and the day the low loader brings the roller.

Questions before you book the roller

What does a roller with an operator cost?

We give you the figure when you call: it depends on the size of the area, the number of layers and how far out the site is. The operator's work is already in it.

Who drives the roller?

Our operator, every time. He drives it off the low loader, works it and loads it back, so you do not need to find anyone to sit at the wheel.

Will the low loader fit down my street?

Describe the road: how wide it is, whether there are tight bends, low wires or a steep climb. If the low loader cannot reach the gate, the roller comes off further away and the operator drives it the rest of the way.

Do I have to be there while the roller works?

At the start, yes: someone needs to show the operator the edges, the pipes and how high the base goes. After that you can leave, and at the end it is worth looking over the result with him.

Is the site ready for the roller? Together we will pick the day it comes.

Before you ring, know your village or sector, roughly how big the area is and what lies on it today.
